At its core, everything VTA has done and is doing can be summed up in the phrase Forging the Future for Harm Reduction. VTA must remain at the forefront of the effort to protect the industry, as the challenges will only continue to grow even in a post-PMTA regulated world. It has become increasingly clear that nothing short of an outright ban will satisfy vaping opponents. As we have seen, imposing the highest taxes in the country has not stopped some states from imposing flavor/outright bans. Similarly, raising the age to 21, while once the most significant policy reform to protect youth, is now just a “first step.” Also, while the opponents of vapor products were laser focused on attacking certain companies for their flavors, the elimination of those flavors from the market has only led the special interest groups to seek a full flavor ban.
